St Joseph Catholic School Council (CSC)

Good afternoon, St Joseph Parents/Guardians,

As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, I am reaching out to extend a warm invitation to you to join our St Joseph Catholic School Council (CSC).  Parent involvement is essential in education, and the partnership between school and home is critical; we need your input!

Through the active participation of parents, our Catholic School Council works to improve pupil achievement and enhance accountability of the education system to parents.  A Catholic School Council makes recommendations to the school Principal on many topics including school budget priorities, the school year calendar, extra-curricular activities, fundraising, etc. It also submits an annual report of its activities to the Principal and the Board.

By joining our Catholic School Council for the 2023-2024 school year as a voting member, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other members of the parent community and vote on motions brought forward, decisions that contribute to student learning and school improvement.  If you are interested in becoming a voting member on the St Joseph Catholic School Council, please complete the form at the following link:  Catholic School Council Parent Self-Nomination Form.

If you are planning to submit a self-nomination form, kindly ensure we have received your submission by Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

Once I have received the parent self-nomination forms, I will contact those parents with additional information about what our first meeting will look like.  The first Catholic School Council Meeting of the 2023-2024 school year will be on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 6:00 PM in our school library.  If you're planning to join our Catholic School Council, please mark your calendar.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.  I'm very much looking forward to collaborating with parents this school year, and I hope that you will consider this invaluable volunteer opportunity.

Blessings,

Tracey Clarey, Principal of St Joseph CS
